Located on the banks of the Kentucky River, the main park area is one of the most popular picnic spots. This area is divided into two sections, one section contains two picnic tables and one pavilion. The second section includes a picnic trailer and three picnic tables. The pavilion provides a wonderful view of the beautiful landscape. This park features beautiful scenery along the river and beautiful gardens along the banks of the river. There are also a number of trails that can be explored. It is best to rent a boat on the river or rent a bike if you wish to hike on these trails.

The park service also offers a playground at the West End Park. This park is also located on the Riverfront. This park features both playground equipment and slides that children of all ages can use. The playground at the West End Park is only for children age six and below and the West End playground does not allow pets. Children that are older than six should also visit the Hopkinsville Zoo and Aquarium. This is also a great place to visit and the zoo has lots of different exhibits and activities.
